Businesses & Ventures

What I’ve built, and what each one taught me

Each venture is a different chapter — removals and logistics, an on-demand startup, storage, a B2B brand and property. Here’s what they do, the role I’ve played, and why they matter in the journey.

Move My Stuff

What it does

A removals, delivery and logistics business I co-founded in 2008 with Inderjeet Pahwa. We built it from the ground up — trucks, teams, systems and the day-to-day realities of moving people and businesses.

My role

Co-founder. I’ve been hands-on across operations, growth and the systems that keep a service business running.

Why it matters in my journey

This is where I learned the fundamentals: winning work, delivering on promises, building teams and fixing problems quickly when things go wrong on the road.

Lessons learned

  • Systems beat heroics — a business that depends on one person’s effort doesn’t scale.

Airmove

What it does

An on-demand transport platform I founded, connecting customers with suitable vehicles and drivers for moving and delivery needs.

My role

Founder. I took the leap from established operations into building a technology startup.

Why it matters in my journey

Airmove is my startup chapter — different pace, different risks, and a very different set of lessons from running a traditional operations business.

Lessons learned

  • Ideas are cheap; execution, timing and distribution decide what survives.

Store My Stuff

What it does

My involvement in the self-storage business — a natural extension of the moving journey, looking after people’s belongings between homes and chapters of life.

My role

Involved in the business as part of the wider moving and storage group.

Why it matters in my journey

Storage taught me about asset-backed, steadier businesses — a useful counterpoint to the intensity of on-demand services.

Lessons learned

  • Different business models reward different temperaments — know which game you’re playing.

3 Mile

What it does

A B2B logistics brand developed to create a clearer identity for business delivery and logistics services.

My role

Developed the brand as part of the group’s business-services offering.

Why it matters in my journey

3 Mile is about speaking properly to business customers — a reminder that who you serve should shape how you present yourself.

Property & Land Development

What it does

Through IJKJ Investments/Developments, I’ve gained exposure to property investment and land development alongside the operating businesses.

My role

Investor and participant — part of broadening my experience beyond transport and logistics.

Why it matters in my journey

Property has been a different education: longer timelines, bigger capital decisions and the value of patience.
